THE FISHERMEN EDEN
This journey is think up to fit sports fishermen, who is really
keen on fishing and who wish spend one’s time only in
the fisheries and related activities, neglecting the rest
of the country.
A full immersion, that will not fail to leave the sign.
It is a journey that requires much adaptability and flexibility
because is foreseen to spend the nights in a tent on the islands
or on board the dhow.
During the trip privacy is little but in return there are
many more moments of socialization and community life. Meals
are prepared by cooking onboard, based on the fish caught
and integrated by our “cambusa” supply.
After the first few days, fresh vegetables and fruit will
not be available.
The cooperation of travellers to prepare the camp on the islands
and, for those who are keen on cooking prepare and cook the
barbecue is always very appreciated.

1st
- Last Day:
Welcome at the Asmara
International Airport and after the processing of customs
formalities departure to Massawa. At arrival,
we will manage to get through the shipment formalities,
obtaining the permits and we’ll board the Erinine’s
dhow: the "Tesfa" or similar.
The "Tesfa", built in 1998, was modified
to be used for tourist cruises on the Dahlak
islands, but still it requires willingness to adapt
to austerity.
The dhow it has a shared cabin with six beds (plus two
additional in the dinette), freshwater tanks, one WC
(Turkish type, that is shared with crew), icebox, radio,
GPS, life jackets, 4,5mt fiber glass tender with 25HP
outboard engine, kitchen, equipment for traditional
fisheries, full camping gears (tends, tables, stools,
mattresses, pillows, bedsheets, lamps, etc).
Crew is composed by a captain “Nakuda”, 2
sailors and a cook. Customers must take care of all
their personal gear and stuff necessary to fish, which
is quite difficult to found in place, and however you
can find only standards of lower quality from those
that the fishing lovers are accustomed to.
During the cruise the accomodation provided is full
board (overnight stay on board the dhow or in tent on
the islands), includes drinks at meals (drinks and mineral
water are local). The itinerary will be arranged with
the captain and the fishing master.
It is not permitted hunting underwater by harpoon gun
and currently even diving on wrecks, although the latter
will probably be authorized in short term.
The Dahlak Archipelago is an exceptional ecosystem,
which has few rivals in the world. You’ll admire
hundreds species of marine organisms such as lobsters,
groupers (including those giants that can reach two
meters in length and 200kg weight), butterfly fish,
barracudas, sharks, angel fish, muraenas, manta reys,
gray mullet, skates, napoleon fish, tritons, turtles.
Surrounded by darkness, the
splendour of the stars and the absolute silence you’ll
spend magical nights that will restore your heart and
soul
Last Day:
The return to Massawa
is planned in the early afternoon of the last day, and
the journey continue to Asmara. In the evening
farewell dinner in a typical restaurant, located a few
km outside Asmara where you can enjoy authentic
traditional cuisine, taste local drinks (sua, mies,
areki) and participate in the ceremony of coffee. After
dinner transfer to the airport for the return flight.
